We will begin the year learning about the rain forest and then compare it to the desert. Later in the year we will explore Earth’s cold deserts, the arctic and antarctic. We will collect weather data and compare weather in different regions of the world, and learn about the people and animals that live in these amazing habitats.
We will learn about Vermont this year. We will explore Vermont’s history, geography and culture. Students will connect prior learning about stream formation and weather to this unit. We will visit the State House in Montpelier and the Granite Quarry in Barre to culminate this unit.
We will discover how land and water interact, observe plant life cycles, track weather in Vermont and other regions, investigate states of matter, and experiment with force and motion. Scientists have a COOL job!
